I am Dr. Amish Dalal a Cancer Surgeon with an M.S. in general surgery from Bombay University and a FRCS from Glasgow.
I have trained extensively in Surgical Oncology at the Tata Cancer Hospital under the guidance of various specialists and in every anatomical area of the body. I did a year rotating Junior Registrar residency in 1986-87, and from 1989 a year as a Clinical Fellow in Head & Neck cancers and Gastrointestinal cancers, two years as a rotating Senior Registrar and thereafter 15 months as a Senior Research Fellow in Genitourinary and Gynecologic Oncology Unit. During my training at the Tata hospital I have performed surgery for all types of cancer and reconstructive procedures. I did clinical research and formed a large database while a research fellow, which resulted in over twenty national and international publications to my credit.
I Dr. Amish Dalal, was awarded the UICC (International Union against Cancer - based in Geneva) ICRETT Fellowship in March 1994. I went to USA for 3 months on this fellowship and spent a month each at the Indiana University Medical Centre, Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Minnesota) and University of Southern California- Kenneth Norris Cancer Centre. I was able to pick up finer techniques by watching and assisting some of the world’s authorities.
I have been teaching medical students/postgraduates when I was a postgraduate student (1 year), then as a senior registrar at Tata Cancer Hospital (2 years) and finally as a Tutor in Surgery at the University of Liverpool, UK. During my tenure in UK I completed my FRCS.Overall I have over 5 years of experience teaching medical students and postgraduate students.
I am Dr. Amish Dalal am a practicing Surgical & Gynecologic Oncologist in Mumbai at the Breach Candy Hospital, Jaslok Hospital, Bhatia Hospital and Parsee General Hospital. My areas of interest are breast, gynaecologic cancers, (esp. ovarian cancers) urologic and colorectal cancers and laparoscopic surgery in oncology.
