Prof. Dr. Amjad Ali ARAIN

Prof. Dr. Amjad Ali Arain is a distinguished educationist and academic leader, currently serving as Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences at Government College University (GCU), Hyderabad, Pakistan. He has also served as Acting Vice Chancellor of GCU Hyderabad. He has contributed significantly to academic leadership, institutional development, and quality enhancement in higher education.

He is passionate about teaching, research, innovation, and YouTubing. He holds a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Education from the Institute of Research in the Sociology and Economics of Education (IREDU), University of Burgundy, France, where he also completed his M.S. in Education and M.S. in Economics. He has international academic experience as a tutor at the University of Burgundy, France. He also holds a certification in data analysis from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and completed an internship with UNESCO Bangkok, Thailand.

His areas of expertise include educational psychology, teacher education, assessment and evaluation, quality assurance, teacher licensing, higher education, economics of education, and peace education. He has authored numerous research papers and presented his work internationally. He was nominated for the WISE Awards (2009) by the Qatar Foundation in recognition of his innovative and sustainable contributions to education.

Prof. Dr. Arain has served in several national and international institutions, including the University of Burgundy, France, UNESCO, International Islamic University Islamabad, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Nawabshah, Sindh Madressatul Islam University Karachi, and the University of Sindh. He has also served as Managing Editor of the Sindh University Journal of Education (SUJE) and is the Founder and CEO of the Innovation, Research and Development Organization (IRADA), which focuses on capacity building of educators and researchers across Pakistan. This NGO works on the skills development of academia, administration, and researchers in the field of education. IRADA has built the capacity of more than one thousand teachers and professionals at school, college, and university levels.
