Dr. Andrea Csiszar

Dr. Andrea Csiszar DMD, M.Sc., Dipl Perio, FRCD, FCDS is a board certified periodontist who practices in New Westminster, British Columbia. Dr. Csiszar works out of her own incorporated practice, where she concentrates on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases and implant placement. In addition to treating periodontal disease, Dr. Csiszar regularly performs connective tissue grafts, anterior aesthetic implants, biopsies for the purpose of diagnosing oral diseases and aesthetic crown lengthening procedures.
Dr. Andrea Csiszar earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 from the University of British Columbia. Following this, Dr. Csiszar completed her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the University of BC from 1999 to 2003, and while doing so, was the recipient of several academic awards and bursaries, including the Integrated Clinical Care Honour Roll Award and the BC Society of Periodontists Prize. In 2006, Dr. Csiszar completed her education by successfully earning her Masters of Science (M.Sc.) degree and Diploma in Periodontics from the University of BC. While earning her M.Sc., Dr. Csiszar completed her thesis on cell and molecular biology in hereditary gingival fibromatosis and was the recipient of the Kathleen McNolty Memorial Prize awarded to the top resident and the Nobel Biocare Achievement Award for excellence in implant surgery.
Dr. Csiszar is active in the periodontal field as a lecturer and instructor. Dr. Csiszar has served as an Associate Clinical Professor for the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Csiszar is currently active as a mentor in the local chapter of the Seattle Study Club. Dr. Csiszar’s experience has enabled her to lecture on a broad range of topics to dentists, dental hygienists, undergraduate dentistry students and graduate periodontics students.
Dr. Csiszar has also contributed to several periodontal publications and journals, and most recently was a co-author of an article on the molecular composition of human gingival interdental papilla, published in the Journal of Periodontology in 2007.
Dr. Csiszar is a member of the Canadian Academy of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontists, the American Academy of Osseointegration and a member of the British Columbia Society of Periodontists.
