David 'Scott' Schmidt, DC, NP-C

Several years back, after successfully practicing Chiropractic for 8 years Dr. David 'Scott' Schmidt expressed his strong desire as a life-long learner and scholar, and gracefully departed from his beloved practice and enrolled in Medical School, joining two close friends and colleagues. While a medical student in paradise Dr. Schmidt had to deal with the rather inconvenient athletic injury that required urgent surgery of his spine and ankle. That placed medical school plans on hold while Dr. Schmidt simply focused on walking functionally again. With hard work and the support of his friends and family, Dr. Schmidt recovered to 110% and decided to stay in Dallas and center his energies on caring for patients again as a skilled Chiropractic Physician. During this time, Dr. Schmidt stayed very busy maintaining his responsibilities and duties as the original co-founder of a Medical Device distribution company that launched in 1999 in just one state and has blossomed to 16 states by 2011.

In May 2011 'Doctor Scott' completed a rigorous 4 year combined educational tract/curriculum in Family Medicine with Residency in the FNP/MSN program at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating Sigma Cum Laude. Dr. Schmidt earned licensure and Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in July 2011. In August 2011 Dr. Schmidt was asked to join the Vitas Innovative Hospice Medical Team as a Provider for patients on hospice service.

In October 2011, Dr. Schmidt and 3 colleagues launched Advanced Care Providers, LLC. A medical group that provides acute and critical care hospitalist support-medical services to hospitals, emergency departments and nursing homes.

In his private practice, Thrive Integrative Healthcare, Dr. Schmidt has proven extremely successful with his unique style concierge-VIP- patient-centered practice. Dr. Schmidt is a Diplomate in Pain Management, Certified in Sports Injuries and Emergency/Trauma care and known for his one-on-one, individualized treatment programs for musculoskeletal conditions, sports related injuries and primary care medical conditions.
