From 1997 I pastored in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many found it amusing that a "Pastor Eric Betts," was ministering in Las Vegas, where people love to place "bets." I am very grateful for the many lives that were inspired, transformed, and educated on the life-changing principles of the scriptures. During this time I also had the privilege to travel the world. I lectured on religious topics in countries such as Botswana, Cook Islands, Malaysia, and New Zealand. I had already traveled to Barbados in the Caribbean during my college years. During my time in Las Vegas, I married my wife Trina, and had two children. When the youngest child was 3 years old, we moved to Washington, D.C. We were there for 6 years ministering, speaking, and conducting training schools for leadership. It was there that we had our third child. We now have three children. During my time in D.C., I had the pleasure of traveling to Uganda, Ghana, and Kenya to conduct leadership training in those countries. It was also an educational experience for me as well.
From the D.C. area, we moved to Florence Alabama in 2011. Since that time, I have had the experience of traveling back to Uganda, as well as making two trips to Berlin Germany. While in Alabama, I took up the task of advancing my educational pedigree and studied at the Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary, where I was fortunate to earn a Master of Theological Studies and a PhD in Theology degree. At the present I am also pursuing a PhD in Religious studies at the University of South Africa. I am presently the assistant director of the Curtis Coleman Center of Religious Studies and Ethics, where it our goal to inspire and equip a new generation of compassionate, conscientious and ethically based leaders for the service of mankind. My passion is to see hurting people healed, and to see those who have had the odds stacked against them to be able to achieve the highest levels of success. My motto is based on an Old Testament prophet who said "to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly."
