Dr. James Blake
Retired Emergency Medicine Physician in Richmond, KY
I am a retired emergency medicine physician based in Richmond, Kentucky, and I feel blessed to have spent my career helping people during some of the most important moments of their lives. Emergency medicine taught me discipline, teamwork, resilience, and the importance of staying calm under pressure. Over the years, I developed strong relationships with nurses, physicians, hospital staff, and patients, and those relationships became one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Before medicine, I competed as an Olympic cyclist, which helped shape my mindset around perseverance, hard work, and dedication. Today, I continue to pursue personal growth through martial arts and proudly hold a black belt. Athletics taught me early on that success is built through consistency, discipline, and the willingness to keep moving forward even after setbacks.
Faith has always been a major part of my life and has guided me throughout my personal and professional journey. I believe strongly in setting goals, reevaluating them daily, and maintaining the inner strength necessary to overcome challenges. Throughout my life, I have learned that failures are not the end of the story. They are opportunities to grow, adjust, and continue pursuing your purpose with renewed focus.
Today, I continue to share lessons about perseverance, accountability, leadership, and maintaining balance between personal and professional life. I believe that with faith, discipline, and dedication, people can overcome obstacles and continue striving toward meaningful goals.
