Dr. Kunal Kumar Singh is a Senior Geologist at Earthquake Geology Division of Geological Survey of India, Southern Region, Hyderabad, India, Asia. He is actively involved with active fault studies, macro-seismic and micro-seismic investigations and seismotectonic assessment of the major Infrastructure projects in the southern India. His research interest lies in the geological & geotechnical mapping, geomechanical characterization of geomaterials (Rock/Soil/Flyash), slope stabilization, seismic and landslide investigations etc. He has interest in experimental and numerical simulation of fluid flow through porous and fractured media along with accelerated modelling and correlating small scale (Lab) properties to large/regional scale properties. He has widely utilized remote sensing & GIS in the field of geological mapping, hydrogeology, rock/soil mechanics and geohazards investigations. Dr Singh has acquired Doctorate of Philosophy, PhD. (2009-14) on the topic entitled “Investigation on Permeability of Fractured, Steep and Deep Rock Slopes with High Groundwater Pressures” from Dept. of Civil Engineering, IITB-Monash Research Academy – a joint Indo-Australian research partnership programme between Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, IIT Bombay, India and Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Before joining PhD degree, Dr Singh has completed M-Tech in Engineering Geology (2006-08) from Indian School of Mines University (I.S.M.U), Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India and M.Sc in Geology from Hansraj College, University of Delhi in 2004. He has also worked at Dorling Kindersley (India) Ltd., as a Cartographic Editor (2004-06) at New Delhi just after completing his M.Sc. degree. He has published several research articles in the International Journals and conferences. His few recent publications are Permeability of granular soil employing flexible wall permeameter, 2018, Arabian Journal of Geosciences,(https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12517-017-3352-y).
