Dr. Lauren Stennis

I’m Dr. Lauren Stennis, a New Orleans native and general dentist dedicated to bringing accessible, culturally aware care to the community that raised me. I spent my early childhood in Atlanta before returning home, and those experiences shaped the values I carry into my work today—respect, connection, and the belief that healthcare should meet people where they are.

I studied at Xavier University of Louisiana and later earned my DDS from the University of Tennessee, where I received the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement. After completing my training, I came back to New Orleans with a clear mission: to build a dental practice where patients feel seen, supported, and empowered to take control of their oral health.

Today, I own and lead Smile Philosophy Dental Care in the Bayou St. John/Mid-City area. My team and I focus on general and family dentistry, preventive education, and creating an environment that feels welcoming and familiar. I also dedicate time to community outreach—offering free dental screenings, visiting local schools, and partnering with nonprofits to support uninsured and underinsured residents.

Outside the office, I enjoy reading about new dental technologies and innovations that improve comfort and care. My goal is simple: help New Orleans smile with confidence, dignity, and long-term health.
