Hello, I’m Dr. Natalie Young. I’m an assistant professor in the College of Education at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Thank you for visiting my page. This page shares a little bit about me and my interests. I consider myself a lifelong learner who loves life, loves to laugh, is often recognized by my smile, and believes in the importance of equity and fairness.

My current research interests focuses on social justice issues, educational experiences of culturally diverse early childhood students, and the experiences of African-American students & teachers in the field of education. Understanding minorities' experiences with race, racism, prejudices, and microaggressions in schools as well as providing diverse experiences to teacher candidates are the primary focus of my research interests and goals.
