Dr. Paul Porter is Director of Programs and Evaluation for Diversity Affairs at the Indiana University School of Medicine. An experienced educator, administrator, and speaker, Dr. Porter's work engages the intersection of higher education and cultural studies with an emphasis on cultural competence, unconscious bias, racial identity and campus experiences for men of color and other historically underrepresented student populations. He has shared his perspectives on issues of race, violence, and social justice in higher education on the online show Student Affairs Live, the American College Personnel Association’s (ACPA) Community Conversations, and Diverse Issues in Higher Education. Dr. Porter earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Indiana State University, and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Studies from Ball State University and Eastern Michigan University.
