I am a doctor by day and an idealist by night. Night is the time I dream about how to make the world a better place for people to live healthier lives. I care about people and the Earth. My passion for helping, nurturing and teaching inspired me to my career; my vocation.

I am board certified in clinical nutrition. I provide nutritional therapy to patients of all ages, to manage and prevent disease. I consider the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of my patients to help them increase their control over, and to improve their health at each stage of life.

My childhood experience in a rural Northern California community shaped my philosophy of food as nutrition and food as nature, and I learned the value of consuming regional, seasonal and organic foods. Growing up poor, I am sensitive to the issues of food access, food justice and food sustainability. In my seminars and my writing, I try to inspire others to think deeply about their relationship to food as a source of nutrition, nature and culture.

For over 25 years, I have dedicated my life to serving society through healthcare. I have served the Portland community for 20 years. I work with the young and the old, the sick and the well, using whole foods and herbs as medicine. I emphasize therapeutic lifestyle changes to help my patients achieve a healthy life span, regardless of their health status.

My private practice is located in One Embassy Centre at Washington Square, next to Embassy Suites Hotel at Hall Blvd and Scholls Ferry Road, right off Highway 217.
