As a privately practicing pain-management physician, Dr. Sai Gutti draws on more than 25 years of experience in his specialty. He began studying interventional pain management while fulfilling his residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. During this time, Dr. Sai Gutti also pursued subspecialty training in several areas of anesthesiology practice, including obstetrical, pediatric, and cardiac anesthesia.

After completing his residency, Dr. Sai Gutti became director of the pain management center at Pikeville Medical Center, where he also served as staff anesthesiologist and pain consultant. While in this role, he completed an advanced pain medicine fellowship in the University of Kentucky Medical Center's Department of Anesthesiology.

As a fellow, Dr. Gutti focused his attention on the management of chronic, acute, and cancer pain via a range of methodologies, including intra-thecal implantable systems and spinal cord stimulators. At the halfway point of his fellowship, he received a scholarship to attend an interventional-therapies workshop that addressed technologies for chronic pain management.

In 2004, Dr. Gutti left his leadership position at Pikeville Medical Center to establish his private office. He remains involved with the medical center as a staff member and is a clinical professor of interventional pain management at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine.
