Thomas G. Cangiano is an American Urologist and certified by the American Board of Urology since 2000. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is currently the Medical Director of Minimally Invasive Urological Surgery at Florida Hospital Altamonte Springs, Florida. He currently practices Urology and Urologic Oncology and specializes in Minimally Invasive Urological Surgery, Laparoscopic Single Site Surgery and daVinci Robotic Nerve-sparing Surgery. He is employed by Florida Urology Associates and is listed as “Best Doctors in America”.

Dr Cangiano attended college at State University of New York at Buffalo from 1984-1988. He then went to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine from 1988 -1992 and completed his general surgery internship in 1993 and residency in Urology at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1997 under Dr. Alan Wein. He was Chief Resident the final year of his residency. He then went on to complete a Fellowship in Urologic Oncology from the University of California at Los Angeles under Dr. Jean deKernion.

Dr. Cangiano has served as Chairman of the Urology Department of Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida and Chairman of Surgery of Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, Florida. He was also President of the Seminole County Medical Society in 2002. He was Chief of the Medical Staff at Florida Hospital Altamonte Springs, Florida from 2008-2009 where he was awarded the Florida Hospital System Presidential Leadership Award. He was instrumental in establishing the Unit Medical Director concept at Florida Hospital and wrote the Unit Medical Director Manual. He was co-President of Winter Park Urology Associates. He is an active member of the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) leadership committee. He currently serves as Medical Director of Minimally Invasive Urological Surgery and Vice Chief of Staff of Florida Hospital Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Dr. Cangiano has been featured in Best Doctors, Orlando Magazine and Top Doctors from 2009 to present 2013. Dr. Cangiano is an author of over 10 articles and publications in the field of urology as well as book chapters. He has given multiple lectures on the topics of Prostate Cancer, daVinci nerve-sparing Prostatectomy, Male Menopause and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
