Dr.Abdullah Shiham Hassan
Public Speaker, Attorney, and Consultant in Maldives
Dr.Abdullah Shiham Hassan is a Council Member of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), appointed by the Minister of Higher Education of Maldives, to represent Islamic Studies Sector. IUM Council had appointed him to the Governing Board of IUM Holding Company Pvt Ltd. He is also a founder member of the Fiqh Academy of Maldives at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. He is an Imaam who delivers Sermons and conduct Friday Prayers.
Dr.Shiham is a committed Islamic scholar, who had been consistently engaging in empowering the youth of Maldives, through delivering of Islamic lectures and speeches in Mosques, universities, resorts, and schools in various inhabited islands within the 21 Atolls of Maldives.
Furthermore, his Youth Empowerment Programs had been broadcasted through state and private TV channels for several years. Dr.Shiham also has his own YouTube Channel (https://youtube.com/channel/UCQ40ZO-wYkBCKliz68Jm_uw) to promote Islamic education on Quran, Tawheed and Ibadath.
Dr.Shiham, has been a specialized Advisor for Maldives Monetary Authority (Central Bank) on Regulation and Supervision of Islamic Banking and Islamic Insurance (Takaful). He had also been a Board Director of Amanah Takaful for nine years. Since 1997, he had been an Attorney-at-Law, licensed by the Ministry of Justice of Maldives.
