Dr. Akram Ismail, from Leesburg, Florida, is an internist and gastroenterologist. He is currently President of Epic Teleradiology, a company that sends US government-certified radiologists to the Middle East to perform imaging procedures. Dr. Akram Ismail, whose mother tongue is Arabic and who speaks English, traveled to the Middle East to negotiate contracts with local organizations such as the Saudi Arabian Oil Company and King Faisal Hospital. dr Ismail is pleased to be able to help his company get accreditation from the Joint Commission.
Many endoscopes are performed by Dr. Akram Ismail who also introduced the Bravo process in his area. During this procedure, a small instrument is inserted into the esophagus to measure the amount of acid reflux in the stomach and to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In addition to various procedures that help people with swallowing disorders, dr. Akram Ismail also provides feeding tubes for terminally ill patients using minimally invasive techniques. dr Ismail works with various liver transplant teams to treat postoperative patients and treat patients with chronic liver disease. He also performs esophageal retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCPs), which saves patients with gallstones from biliary tract surgery.

He worked as a clinical instructor at Shams University in Cairo, Egypt; New Jersey University of Medicine and Dentistry; and Zaher Teaching Hospital in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. dr Ismail is a member of various professional associations to stay up to date in his field. He is a member of the Florida Society of Gastroenterology, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and Florida Medical Association, where he served on the Board of Directors in 1997 and 1998.
