Quel Valencia is a 27-year old writer living at the heart of the Philippines' top business district. Currently, she is a government project officer dealing with issues on the country's peace process who does freelance work when opportunity knocks. She used to be a PR writer for commercial brands, a continuity scriptwriter and researcher for the country's top basketball league, and an editorial assistant at a publishing company.

Quel graduated cum laude with a degree in Comparative Literature in 2006 from the University of the Philippines - Diliman. She terribly misses reading books and doodling during lectures.
