Alan Matarasso

Dr. Alan Matarasso is a world-renowned expert in cosmetic plastic surgery and the owner of a Manhattan-based practice. In addition to his abilities as a surgeon, Dr. Alan Matarasso is also a widely published scholar and a member of the review boards of several prominent medical journals.

Over the past 25 years, Dr. Alan Matarasso's scholarly contributions have exceeded 100 articles and letters and over 400 lectures and presentations. Dr. Alan Matarasso has also authored dozens of book chapters on plastic surgery and is frequently called upon to edit others.

Dr. Alan Matarasso's textbooks and educational publications are used as standard materials at medical schools throughout North America. Furthermore, a video produced by Dr. Alan Matarasso, "Botox for Facial Rejuvenation," was awarded outstanding recognition by the Aesthetic Surgery Video Journal and approved for continuing medical education credit in 1999.

Currently, Dr. Alan Matarasso is the senior scientific editor of one of the largest academic publications in cosmetic surgery, the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. Dr. Alan Matarasso is also a manuscript reviewer for the Annals of Plastic Surgery, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the Journal of the American Medical Association, among many others.

Dr. Alan Matarasso also has participated in dozens of committees for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and many other professional organizations. Additionally, Dr. Alan Matarasso is the President of the Rhinoplasty Society, a nonprofit organization that aims to advance innovation in rhinoplastic surgery.

Furthermore, Dr. Alan Matarasso has developed seven surgical tools for use in cosmetic surgery, including a liporoller, reinforced pressure garments, an endoscopic brow tray, and two types of facelift scissors.

Through his many academic publications and numerous other professional contributions, Dr. Alan Matarasso has created an international reputation for himself and a lasting legacy as a chief innovator in the field of cosmetic surgery.
