Alon Aharon, M.D., is well accredited. Licensed by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, Inc., Dr. Aharon also possesses a Certification in Heart Transplantation through the United Network for Organ Sharing. He belongs to medical organizations such as the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Alon Aharon, M.D., also holds memberships in the Southern Medical Association, the Louisiana State Medical Society, the California Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the Orleans Parish Medical Society. As a researcher, Dr. Aharon investigates a number of medical conditions and processes, including cardiomyoplasty, gene therapy, skeletal muscle plasticity, and immune mechanisms of reperfusion injury in lung transplantation, with an eye to creating treatments, medicines, and devices to alleviate illness and suffering.
