Hi there, I am a Chinese Singaporean, born on 3 Nov 1977. I am a trained teacher, having taught the English Language for 12 years. This excludes the 3 years of formal teacher training I had in Singapore’s National Institute of Education for teachers.

I am Chinese but am a native speaker of English and fluent in both spoken and written English and have used this language since birth.

I have a neutral accent and am able to sing in the English language and draw art to complement my teaching of English. I am very familiar with creative teaching techniques such as show and tell, role playing, story telling/narration, reader's theatre, poems, riddles, jokes, story creation, circles training, debates etc.

Qualifications

I have a Bachelor in arts in English Language and Literature. from Singapore Institute Of Management University. I also possess a diploma in Education which is a teaching qualification from Singapore's Ministry of Education. In addition, I can converse in chinese. However, I am not good at reading Chinese characters, as I have used the English language since birth.

I have a lot of experience working and advising adult parents in all subjects in primary school. Subjects like English, Mathematics, Science as I have spoken to parents and shared tips on improving the language ability of children. Personality and attitude towards teaching.

I believe in forming a good rapport with the children I teach. I am very passionate and love nurturing children. I feel, that a teacher needs patience, effort and knowledge to teach effectively and efficiently.

Patience is important as children need time to think and practice skills taught to master content.
