Dr. Barbara Shang received her Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University with dual honors in both Microbiology & Immunology and the Humanities Honors Program. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine where she was a Dean's Scholar. Dr. Shang completed her internship in internal medicine at UCLA and her ophthalmology residency in New York City at the internationally recognized Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital known for its many pioneering firsts in the field of ophthalmology. She completed her training at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center which brought her back to California. She is a board certified eye physician and surgeon specializing in the microsurgical techniques of cataract extraction and other procedures.
