Dr. Barulich

Matthew Barulich, MD, founded the Obstetrics and Gynecology practice Desert Rose in Carson City, Nevada in 2001. Desert Rose provides both high-quality obstetrical care from prenatal to postpartum, as well as gynecological exams, treatment, and surgery. Dr. Matthew Barulich's oversight ensures Desert Rose OB/GYN provides patient-centered care through follow-up phone calls, patient education, and a commitment to understanding and respecting the personal concerns of each patient.

A native of Reno, Dr. Matthew Barulich earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis before attending the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where he graduated with his MD in 1982. Dr. Barulich completed his residency at the University of California, San Francisco Medical program's Fresno campus in 1986 before joining the Carson Medical Group private practice, where he worked until 2001. Before leaving the Carson Medical Group, Dr. Barulich was awarded the Carson City Jaycees Outstanding Young Medical Professional award in 1990. In addition to his work there, Dr. Barulich has been the Medical Director of the Community Pregnancy Center since 1997, where he supervises and performs ultrasounds on patients who may be considering abortion. He also sat on the University of Nevada School of Medicine Admissions Committee from 2004 to 2006.

Outside of his work as a medical doctor, Dr. Matthew Barulich has taught classes on STDs in public schools and to youth groups in Carson City, Douglas County, Dayton, Virginia City, and Lake Tahoe, Nevada, for twenty years. Committed to charity and missionary work, he has led youth mission trips to Mexico and recently traveled to southern Sudan. In his spare time, he likes to run, ski, hunt, and fish. He also enjoys photography and scuba diving, and has coached Little League baseball teams in Carson City for seven years. Dr. Barulich lives in Carson City with his wife, Suzanne, and their four children.
