Dr Carla Retief

Nashville, Tennessee

A leading dermatologist providing cosmetic services and state-of-the-art treatment for skin cancer, Dr. Carla Retief completed her undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University on an academic scholarship. After graduating summa cum laude, she enrolled at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where she built upon her exemplary academic record as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following receipt of her Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Retief moved to Chicago to fulfill her clinical training, undertaking a general internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a residency in dermatology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. Dr. Carla Retief finished her formal training at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she completed a fellowship through the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.

After two years practicing in Palm Beach, Florida, Dr. Retief relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, and started Retief Skin Center, a diversified medical office with a focus on Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and other related practice areas. She has since turned Retief Skin Center into one of the top practices of its kind in the greater Nashville region. Dr. Carla Retief maintains affiliation with the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, as well as the Tennessee Dermatology Society and the Tennessee Medical Association.
