What is a Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure?
Although diet and exercise can help shape the body, they aren't always sufficient to accomplish a certain objective, such as bigger breasts or a rounder bottom. Although implants to enhance the breast and butt area have been readily accessible for a number of years, requests for surgery to obtain a more shapely posterior without the use of implants have increased.
Dr. Carlos Chacon of Divino Plastic Surgery surgery in San Diego, CA, has done thousands of Brazilian butt lifts for patients of San Diego and Worldwide. “In short,” Dr. Chacon explains, “This procedure entails removing excess fat from one part of the body and injecting it into the buttocks.” In many cases, fat is removed from an area that already contains excess fat, with the added benefit of improving the overall appearance of the lower body. Notes Dr. Chacon, “Brazilian butt lift surgery, despite its name, has nothing to do with Brazilian culture. The name is a tribute to the Brazilian plastic surgeon who originally developed and performed the treatment.”
Brazilian butt lift surgery can be done under general anesthetic as an outpatient operation. The surgeon removes fat from the lower body using a procedure commonly known as liposuction. This fat is refined in-office, and then injected into precise and pre-determined areas on the buttocks to obtain the desired shape and size.
Although there may be some soreness and/or pain after the procedure, prescription pain medication is rarely required. Most patients are comfortable with over-the-counter medications for discomfort.
“Recovery time is minimal,” assures Dr. Carlos Chacon of Divino Plastic Surgery. Within 10 to 14 days after the surgery, you should be able to resume mild daily exercise and employment, and sometimes sooner. However, you will be unable to sit, lie down, or apply direct pressure on your buttocks for approximately two weeks. For a brief period of time following the Brazilian butt lift procedure, you'll be required to stay off of your back and rear end in order to keep pressure off of that area.
After a few weeks, your plastic surgeon will clear you to sit in a modified position with a supportive seat or cushion beneath your thighs to avoid pressure on your buttocks. Around a couple weeks following the treatment, you should be able to sit again without restrictions.
