The Chronicles of the Brethren is a series centered on the exploits of an ancient warrior named Alexandros. Alexandros and his brother Calyph lived in ancient Byzantium and were members of the religious order founded by their father, Basil of Pontus, called the Brethren. After the fourth crusade, the Brethren was created to serve as disciples of Christ in the eastern orthodox tradition and to protect their world from Latin influence and tyranny. After their father passed from this life, the care of the Brethren was left in the hands of Calyph. However, power and cruelty set in the heart of Calyph to which peace and protection of the Byzantine empire was no longer the goal. Emboldened by a new master, Calyph's desire was to organize his own crusade against the Catholic church and eventually the world. Beseeched by his own committment to his father, Alexandros must now take on a mission to stop his brother that will transend time and place.
