Over the last two decades, Dr. Clemens Gerstenkorn, a visceral, trauma, and general surgeon based in Germany, has performed surgeries at a number of medical facilities and teaching hospitals. He has worked extensively in areas of general and abdominal surgery, vascular surgery (involving renal access for dialysis), orthopaedic surgery, and transplantation surgery such as renal, liver, and pancreas transplants. During his time as a general surgeon, Dr. Clemens Gerstenkorn has held positions with prestigious institutions like University Hospital Cologne, EULEX European Hospital Kosovo, Columbus States University Ohio and one of the largest hospitals in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.

The winner of the 2001 St. John’s Ambulance Travelling Fellowship in Transplantation, Dr. Gerstenkorn attended medical school in Munster, Germany. He later taught medicine at the University of Munster’s department of general surgery. In addition to his career as a surgeon and teacher, Dr. Clemens Gerstenkorn has published papers on a number of topics, including the surgical management of multiple donor veins in renal transplantation and the effective transplantation of kidneys from a donor with myoglobinuric acute renal failure.
