Dr. Darian Jones

With more than 14 years of experience as an educator and administrator, Dr. Darian Jones has held leadership positions in Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina. From 2003 to 2005, Dr. Darian Jones served as director of minority student achievement for Williamsburg James City County Schools, working towards community solutions to improve a significant achievement gap. As principal of Ben L. Smith High School, Darian Jones helped the school earn the distinction of Most Improved High School based on State Composite EOCT scores, in addition to creating an International Baccalaureate Program.

After earning a bachelor of science in psychology and a bachelor of arts in philosophy from Tulane University, Dr. Darian C. Jones received his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he studied curriculum, teaching and cultural foundations, and urban studies.

In his free time, Dr. Jones enjoys running, reading, and spending time with his two daughters.
