Dr Denaesh Ariyanayagam

I am a Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon based in Trinidad, currently practicing at St. Augustine Private Hospital. My career has been shaped by a strong commitment to patient care, medical excellence, and continuous learning. I graduated with honors in medicine from the University of the West Indies, where I was awarded a gold medal, and later completed postgraduate surgical training in Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. I am proud to be a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the International College of Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.

Over the years, I have balanced clinical practice with education and leadership. I spent 15 years as a full-time faculty member at the University of the West Indies, helping to train the next generation of physicians. I am also a founding partner and past chairman of St. Augustine Private Hospital, where I have contributed to building and guiding healthcare services.

I believe strongly in honesty, competence, and patient advocacy. Outside of my profession, I value balance and enjoy boating as a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Yacht Club, along with staying involved in community and charitable initiatives.
