Christy Scimeca

Hello!! My name is Christy and I am a very fun, outgoing, funny and determined person. I am a sophomore at the University of Iowa (On Iowa, GO HAWKS!) and I am a double major in dance and athletic training and I am also getting my entrepreneurship certificate. At the University I am also in a sorority, Alpha Chi Omega! I am also the Co-President of Phi Eta Sigma the Honors Fraternity on campus. When I am not doing all of that I am working at a local dance studio, Nolte Academy of Dance as a dance teacher. I do A LOT but I like to be involved and be apart of something that is bigger than me. In my free time I also work with children with disabilities because I have a wonderful brother, who means the world to me, that has disabilities. Also while I am at school I try to babysit when I can, I do that because I have a wonderful love for children and they make my day better. My favorite word is DREAM and I have to say every day I dream and I dream big. I have tried out for So You Think You Can Dance twice and have made TV apperances on both seasons, and I will be trying out again this year? (So look for me!!) I also competed to be Miss Illinois this past year and will one day pursue that dream again. I may be young now but I believe that you have to life every moment to the fullest. One day I hope to own my own dance studio and be an athletic trainer at a Big Ten University or for a Major League team. I really hope you pick me! I am easy to get along with and I never settle. I always try to better myself and others, and I don't think of it as work.
