Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Errol Alden presides as Executive Director of the American Academy of Pediatrics in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Previously, Dr. Errol Alden served the American Academy of Pediatrics as Associate Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and Director for the Department of Education.
Dr. Errol Alden began laying the groundwork for his career at The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science. He continued on at OSU to obtain a Doctor of Medicine in 1966. Following this, he undertook a rotating internship with Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, before completing residency work in pediatrics for the center. He ended his formal training with a neonatology fellowship with the University of Washington.
An active contributor to his field, Dr. Errol Alden maintains affiliations with a variety of professional organizations. These include the American College of Physician Executives, the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairmen, the International Society of Tropical Pediatrics, and the Chicago Medical Society. In addition, Dr. Errol Alden holds several committee membership positions for organizations such as the American Medical Association, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, and the International Pediatric Association.
In recognition of his dedication to practice, administration, and research, Dr. Errol Alden has received a variety of awards and commendations throughout his career. Among others, he has earned the Texas Children's International Recognition Award, the World Leader in Pediatrics Award, and an Alumni Professional Achievement award from the Ohio State University Alumni Association. In 2012, he was granted an honorary fellowship with the Turkish Pediatric Society.
