Dre The Barber
Dre The Barber
Us barbers live by the efforts of our own ambition. However, when our ambition is simply to live, barbering takes on a whole new meaning. Andrae Davis aka Dre The Barber used barbering to escape a life that was surrounded by gangs, drugs, and violence. In Dre’s native Little Rock, Arkansas, many people don’t make it out, and fall victim to their environment. This reality is ever more real for Dre, considering that this harsh reality has plagued his immediate family. His brother was murdered, and his mother struggled with drug abuse, even serving stints in prison. None the less, Dre used barbering as a means to create a new life for himself. Dre deciding that college wasn’t his route. So after seeking the council of both his grandmother and uncle who both suggested he follow his passion, Dre decided to pursue barbering as a new career. Dre who was always a talented artist, found barbering as a perfect fit. He was cutting hair out his car for $5 a head, in order to hone his skills and earn a reputation. He did what all true barbers do. He earned his reputation one head at a time. In 2008, Dre took a leap on faith and put Arkansas in his rear view mirror. Dre moved to Atanta, Ga and the rest is history. As a fellow barber, you can’t help but love and respect the brother’s hustle. Dre’s blog domain name is www.drethebarber.com By the title alone, I knew he boldly and confidently stood behind his craft, because he loves what he does. Through the use of his blogsite, twitter, myspace, facebook, tumblr and Instagram; this barber relentlessly promotes himself as a brand.
