In defining my career development path, I would say that I have taken the scenic route. I have six years experience as a high school counselor. Prior to becoming an educator, I spent ten years working with kids in community programs, youth organizations, and coaching. My extensive background in counseling and my life experience gives the unique ability to relate, connect, and support high school students.

My experiences working with young people as a youth leader and coach were the foundation for me to move into a career in education. In 2001, I finally decided to fully commit myself to pursuing my degree. I received my Associates Degree in 2001 from Lane Community College. In 2002, I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Oregon. In February 2005, I completed my requirements for my Masters Degree and school counselor requirements at Pacific University.

As a professional educator, I use my gifts, skills and abilities as a tool to relate and connect with young people. I'm able to understand and remember how hard things were for me. As a counselor and coach, I am lucky use my life experience to help students succeed in academics, athletics, and in life.
