I'm Drew Daniel Smith from Bowdon, GA. I am a student at the University of Georgia. I went to Carrollton City Schools throughout my K-12 schooling.
At Carrollton High School I participated in many things. I played football for Carrollton from eighth grade to my senior year. I also joined many clubs throughout my high school career.
My senior year, I joined a small club that was just starting up at my school known as the VEX Club. This club was created to help our students compete in VEX Robotics competitions throughout the state and, if you did well enough, you could even qualify to go to the World Championships in Orlando, FL. I joined this club just to have some fun and to have the unique opportunity to help create such intriguing devices. My team which consisted of my fellow classmates Justin and Kaj created a robot and competed in the competitions. Amazingly, in our first and unfortunately only year we quailified to go to Worlds. This was an experience that I will always remember. It wasn't great because of the missing a week of school and going to Disney. It was great because there we were in a room full of people from around the world that we had the chance to compete against. We may have only gotten a place in the low 100's in the competition, but we had the experience of beating hundreds of the top minds in the world in a great atmosphere, while being beaten by the very best.
