I was born and raised in Nebraska and Iowa and lived my life as a preacher’s kid. I am very grateful that I was brought up in a strong Christian home founded in the Restoration Movement Christian Church fellowship. I still hold a close relationship with all of my family and I married the love of my life and a true worship leader at heart, Morgan, on July 16, 2011. We just recently had our first child, Elijah Grey Milliken, born on April 04, 2013. My family and I currently live in Omaha, NE and have been serving at Glad Tidings Church - an Assemblies of God church of approx. 1,800 attendants each week - for nearly four years. Here, my wife is the choir director, while I am serving in multiple ministries, focused on youth and worship.
The verses I live by are firstly Colossians 3:23-24, which has encouraged me to let my effort in whatever I am doing, be my excellent worship to God. My other life verse is Galatians 2:20. This verse encourages me to daily die to myself and let Christ live through me despite my weaknesses and insufficiencies.
I have had a passion for youth ministry since I was in Junior High School. My desire is to see youth develop an internal passion for God that can’t be contained until it naturally overflows out of them into their schools, among their friends, and in their homes. I love to have fun, but my heart of hearts is to see radical faith in students that pushes everyone out of their spiritual comfort zones allowing them to experience God in a new, relational way. I want to see the youth of today become deeply grounded in Him so they can change the world of tomorrow.
