Drew Lindsay
Drew Lindsay graduated from Queen’s University with a B. Sc. and as one of the founding partners of GuruLink, along with Brad McIntosh, has been the driving force behind GuruLink’s strategy, vision and growth. Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family, and being afforded the opportunity to be involved in high-level business conversations around the dinner table (and working in the business themselves) from a young age Drew has developed a natural entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for developing new and innovative processes and services.
Prior to and after graduating from Queen’s University Drew worked at one of the family businesses CA4IT, a CA firm specializing in taxes for IT contractors, as a New Projects Manager. In this role he helped move their office from a paper-based accounting system to an electronic one, and was instrumental in helping document and improve processes to help move CA4IT towards becoming the first Canadian accounting firm to be ISO9001 certified. After leaving the family business to expand his horizons Drew held several small consulting engagements with the likes of Addison Wesley Longman, eHarlequin, CSIO, and CIBC.
Having always had an interest in recruitment Drew finally decided to explore this interest in recruitment in 2000 with a small boutique recruitment firm. Having generated over $20,000 in permanent placement fees in his first month, and over $50,000 in his 4th month he realized that this was something he had a knack for, but saw a lot of room for improvement in the processes, quality of services, and the types of services being offered by recruitment companies. From this realization the vision and service portfolio for GuruLink was born.
In addition to driving and managing strategy, process improvement, contract negotiation, documentation, software development and operations for GuruLink Drew continues to play a key role in business development, sales and marketing, account management, and training and development. GuruLink is currently in the process of spinning-off the software into a separate business to capitalize on the intellectual property investments and is developing the infrastructure for the eventual franchising plans that are to be put into effect over the next 1-2 yrs. and Drew is also responsible for driving these initiatives.
