I'm a writer who worked his way into tech. I use my story-telling ability to communicate and evangelize technology, especially in the realm of Big Data and data analytics. I'm in the process of booting up www.seattledatavis.com, a regionally focused data visualization blog for the Seattle area.

By day, I work as an Analyst for Amazon Corporate in Human Resources. I'm also concurrently in school for two certificates - Data Visualization and User Centered Design - both at University of Washington. I want to take my data analysis chops into UCD research to make functional, beautiful, and timeless products.

(Novice) Design: graphics, illustration, media, UX, IxD, UI, etc.

(Competent) Research: user research, UX, usability, etc.

(Expert) Management: project/product management, strategy, etc.

When I'm not geeking out on Excel or Power BI, I'm hanging with my greyhound (Whiskey), reading Batman comics, marveling at H.P. Lovecraft's enduring prose, or hitting the gym to get my sweat on.
