Dr. Gabriel Carabello

Dr. Gabriel Carabello is a board-certified vascular surgeon with over 30 years of experience treating patients with a range of vascular conditions. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, he has built a longstanding medical career focused on helping individuals manage serious health concerns, including carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and peripheral vascular disease. His work reflects a steady and focused commitment to patient care in both routine and high-pressure settings.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Loyola Marymount University in 1985 and received his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his General Surgery training through an Internship and Residency at King-Drew Medical Center, concluding in 1995. He then pursued further specialization through a Trauma/Critical Care Fellowship in 1996, followed by a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1997. In 2008, he expanded his clinical training with a Mini-Fellowship in Endovascular Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

His medical career has taken him to hospitals and clinics throughout California, Arizona, and Florida. He has worked in both long-term and locum tenens roles, responding to immediate needs while maintaining consistent care standards. Gabriel Carabello, MD, has served at facilities such as Yuma Regional Medical Center and HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital, as well as multiple surgical offices in the Los Angeles area. His focus has included vascular access for dialysis patients and a range of endovascular procedures.

In addition to his clinical care, he held a faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Surgery from 1997 to 1999, where he helped train medical students and residents. He is licensed to practice in several states and holds certifications in both General and Vascular Surgery. He also maintains training in cardiac life support and sedation and is fluent in both English and Spanish, which supports communication across diverse patient populations.

He has been recognized by peers and staff with various awards and has contributed to published medical research addressing trauma and vascular treatment approaches.
