Joseph Gonzalez

Dr. Joseph Gonzalez is a science teacher with Los Angeles Unified School District. He has been teaching since September, 1996.

He holds a PhD in Philosophy (UC Riverside), specializing in Metaphysics, along with the following:

  • Masters degree in Philosophy (University of California, Riverside)
  • Bachelors degree in Philosophy (University of California, Riverside)
  • Bachelors degree in Psychology (University of California, Riverside)
  • Single Subject Teaching Credential: Foundational Science (Cal State Dominguez Hills)
  • Multiple Subject Teaching Credential: Ryan CLAD (University of California, Los Angeles)

He really digs experimenting with ideas and learning about new things, especially if they relate to physics (classical, quantum mechanics, and cosmological).

Dr. Gonzalez has been happily married since September 2009 to his wife Michelle. They have a son named Bruce and reside in Downey, CA.

He has been a comic book fan since 1975, and has a big collection that he really needs to get around to organizing.

He likes most types of music, but especially the sub-genre of shoegazing, which is defined as "typified by significant use of guitar effects, and indistinguishable vocal melodies that blended into the creative noise of the guitars" (via Wikipedia).

Dr. Gonzalez likes working with computers, fixing, networking, and poking around inside of them. He's skilled in both Mac and Windows environments. As a hobbyist, he's skilled at repairing and diagnosing most problems in the above operating systems. He is currently expecting to create his first Linux box during Summer 2011. He is currently working on his school's webpage on schoolloop, and it can be located here, slated to be done by August 2011.

He's a really big Cleveland Browns fan. Yes, he also understands that his team has not been the greatest recently, but he's hoping for future success. Every Sunday during football season, if he's not at church, he's watching NFL games with his friends and family.

He's also a big Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim fan, and attends games with his wife. She's a big Angels fan, too.

Lastly, he's also a Los Angeles Lakers fan who is hoping for a better result next year.
