Dr. Goya V. Raikar, MD, FACS, FCCP is a nationally recognized cardiothoracic surgeon and Chief Cardiac Surgeon at Froedtert South. With over two decades of experience, he is a pioneer in robotic cardiac surgery and a leader in advancing minimally invasive heart procedures that enhance patient recovery and outcomes.

He performed the first robotic-assisted mitral valve repair in the Minneapolis–St. Paul region and currently leads the Robotic Mitral Valve Repair Program at Community Memorial Hospital. His surgical expertise spans mitral valve repair, CABG, adult congenital defects, cardiac tumors, and arrhythmia surgeries.

Dr. Raikar trained at the Mayo Clinic and the University of Wisconsin Hospital, and has held leadership roles at major institutions like the University of Oklahoma and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He’s an active researcher, published author, past President of the Minnesota Society of Thoracic Surgery, and mentor to surgical teams across the country.
