An experienced professor of psychiatry, Dr. Gregg Gorton recently accepted a teaching position at the Temple University School of Medicine. Beginning in November, he will serveas associate director of an inpatient ward at Episcopal Hospital. In this capacity, Dr. Gregg Gorton will train medical students doing their first clinical psychiatry rotation. He had previously taught in the Temple University Department of Psychiatry and received Teacher of the Year honors in 2004, and he is very pleased to rejoin the department.
Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Gorton is also a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Gregg Gorton earned his MD at the Tufts University School of Medicine, where he belonged to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Furthering his education, he completed an internship in primary care internal medicine at Boston University and a residency in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Additionally, he held a fellowship in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the renowned Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
