Dr. Gregg Lucksinger
Based in Austin, Texas, Dr. Gregg Lucksinger applies his expertise as Chief Medical Officer of Trovare, Inc., a firm that focuses on software and pharmaceutical research. Dr. Lucksinger is also Medical Director of Tekton Research, Inc., a clinical research facility based in Austin, Texas.
After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Lucksinger undertook a residency in family practice through the Central Texas Medical Foundation and did clinical rotations at Brackenridge Hospital from 1989 until 1992. During the last year of his residency, Dr. Lucksinger was recognized for his hard work through his appointment as President of the Resident’s Association and Chief Resident. During the same period, Dr. Lucksinger also completed an internal medicine rotation in the intensive care unit of the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage.
After completing his residency in 1992, Dr. Lucksinger went on to found Red River Family Practice, located near Brackenridge Hospital and the University of Texas campus. He also became an active staff member at Brackenridge and St. David’s hospitals, while also serving as a consultant at St. David’s Pavilion and Charter Behavioral Health System. In addition, Dr. Lucksinger helped patients as Medical Director and Chief of Staff at Summit Hospital of Central Texas, a long-term acute care facility. Additionally, he applied his expertise at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital of Austin, where he served as Medical Director.
From 1992 until 2005, Dr. Lucksinger also managed his own outpatient practice, which he eventually expanded to include five other physicians. In 2005, Dr. Lucksinger began the transition to a career in medical informatics. In 2001, he also collaborated with four other medical professionals to form the Central Texas Clinical Research with the intention of creating a space ideally equipped to provide pharmaceutical research in Austin. With a focus on research into drug treatments for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the clinic has worked with a wide spectrum of drugs and vaccines.
With concern for the health of others in his local and broader community, Dr. Gregg Lucksinger has participated in a number of charitable projects. He has given his time and energy to two volunteer clinics in Austin. At one point, he treated displaced Hurricane Katrina survivors after they arrived from Louisiana.
