Will and I met in August of 2013. He had just moved to Suwanee, Georgia for his first big venture away from home (Spring Hill, TN). He had completed a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology at Lipscomb University, as well as a Master's in Public Health from The University of South Florida. I was on a similar new venture in Suwanee, however, I didn't migrate nearly as far (my home is Bogart, GA). I had finished a Bachelor's in Biological Engineering at The University of Georgia and was eager to start a new season in my life. We were both beginning osteopathic medical school at PCOM-Georgia Campus, and though we had high expectations for our future careers, God also surprised us both with a new friendship. Our friendship quickly grew into a dating relationship full of road trips, study sessions, and homemade dinner dates. In March 2014, Will surprised me with a secret proposal planned with my family. It was one of the most exciting evenings of our lives, confirming so much that God had already revealed in our hearts as individuals. We knew we wanted to be husband and wife as soon as time would allow, so on July 12, 2014 we were married with our closest family and friends as witnesses of our new covenant with God and each other. Though our love story is becoming a more beautiful and exciting adventure each day, our lives as medical students are also worth documenting. It has been a year and a half of an intensity that neither of us can describe. We know the effort will be worth it as we enter the world as physicians, but the finish line of this race sure will be as sweet as they come. In the mean time, we have each other to lean on, and the added benefit of communicating with weird medical lingo. While we walk the path the Lord has set out for us, we plan to continue working hard, praying harder, and loving life and each other with all we've got!
