Jaime Alexander Caballero, M.D., FACC, FSCAI, is an interventional cardiologist based in Tampa, Florida, known for his work in coronary interventions, structural heart disease treatment, and endovascular therapies. He is the founder of Tampa Heart and Vascular Associates, an independent, physician-led cardiology practice focused on comprehensive cardiovascular care. He also serves as Collaborative Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the University of South Florida and maintains clinical privileges at Tampa General Hospital.

Dr. Jaime Caballero grew up in Colombia, where he demonstrated academic excellence at a young age. In 1994, he became the National Champion in the Colombian Secondary School Mathematics and Physics Olympics in Bogotá. Inspired by an interest in science and medicine, he pursued medical education at the University of Tolima School of Medicine. He completed his Medical Doctor degree in 2006 and received the Best Intern of the Year recognition from Hospital Fundación Santafé de Bogota.

After graduating from medical school, he continued his clinical training in emergency and trauma care. He completed Advanced Trauma Life Support training at the University de La Salle in Bogota and also studied emergency airway management at the University of Rosario. In 2009, he relocated to the United States to continue his postgraduate medical training and completed an Internal Medicine residency at Yale School of Medicine, Saint Raphael Campus from 2009 to 2012.

Jaime Caballero, MD, later trained at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he completed a Cardiology Fellowship from 2012 to 2015 and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from 2015 to 2016. During this period, he gained experience in cardiovascular diagnostics, coronary interventions, and catheter-based procedures used in the treatment of complex heart conditions.

Dr. Jaime Caballero began his clinical career in interventional cardiology in Tampa in 2016, working at Premier Heart and Vascular Center, Pepin Heart Institute, and Advent Health Tampa. In 2019, he joined HCA Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg. Since 2021, he has served as a founding physician of Tampa Heart and Vascular Associates while continuing to contribute to cardiology education, professional collaboration, and the advancement of cardiovascular care.
