A physician with medical and surgery licenses through the states of Wisconsin and Illinois, Dr. James DuCanto is certified through the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Anesthesiology, and the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. He also holds a controlled substance regulation certificate through the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Dr. James DuCanto completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in anesthesiology at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

For nearly two decades, Dr. James DuCanto has served as a staff anesthesiologist with Anesthesiology Associates of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He also directs the practice’s Simulation Center and its resident/medical student education initiatives. From 2012 to 2016, Dr. DuCanto headed quality control at Milwaukee’s Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. Outside of his medical practice, he actively promotes emergency medical care issues, such as resuscitation and airway management, on various social media outlets.
