I believe in the power of stories—how they help us make sense of our world and build real connection. My journey to now began on stage, performing background vocals for others and songwriting with my all-girl band, where I discovered how stories and music bring people together. That love of storytelling traveled with me as I transitioned into education, starting as a substitute teacher in Newark, New Jersey while completing my bachelor’s degree. It was there I became curious about why classrooms felt so different—and what made each community unique.
I discovered storytelling isn’t just a tool for sense-making from the stage; it’s also the foundation for creating communities strong enough to hold difficult conversations and grow through them. This passion inspired my post-graduate work, blending education philosophy with the art of connection and dialogue.
Now, 25 years later, I bring a rich mix of life lessons, diverse experience, and deep commitment to fostering spaces where every voice matters. In educational spaces, I provide data-driven, strategic instructional support and lead professional development that creates brave, inclusive spaces centered on equity, student needs, and honest conversation. With caregivers of children, teens and young adults, I support their individual learning journeys and the communities they are a part of through Kaleidoscope Learning Lab, my education consulting company.
Along the way and after the birth of my son, I embraced my songwriting pen to write diverse stories for and about children, blending creativity with a passion for representation that supports both early childhood literacy and caregiver connection.
I'm always here to keep the conversation going because community grows when we listen, share, and tackle challenges in partnership.
What can we do together?
