Dr. Jennifer Creedis the founder and owner of Dr. J's Perfect Dolls, an Illinois cattery that breeds and sells Ragdoll kittens. Dr. Jennifer Creed is a licensed veterinarian who earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Creed worked as an Associate Veterinarian at the Carol Stream Animal Hospital in Carol Stream, Illinois. Following this position, she worked for a corporation called Petsmart Veterinary Services from 1996 to 1998. In 1998, Dr. Creed took a position at the Emergency Veterinary Services clinic in Lisle, Illinois. The clinic specializes in providing overnight care for sick pets when other daytime veterinary clinics are closed.
Since 1994, Dr. Creed has bred Ragdoll kittens, a mixed breed created by Ann Baker in California in the 1960s. The breed is a mix of the Persian, Burmese, and Birman breeds. They have silky coats that are white or cream in color and which rarely become matted, and tend to grow to be large, muscular cats.
Dr. Creed works to ensure that each kitten raised at Dr. J's will grow into a healthy mature cat. She keeps the kittens in groups of five or fewer. They socialize with children, dogs, and other cats. To ensure the health of the animals, Dr. Creed screens each kitten on a regular basis for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), and internal and external parasites. Breeding cats are kept in small groups and are screened for both kidney and heart disease. Ultrasounds to screen for heart disease are performed by a cardiologist.
In addition to her Doctorate from the University of Illinois, Dr. Jennifer Creed holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Benedictine University, an Associate's degree in Business from the College of Dupage, and a Bachelor of Arts in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois. She lives in Illinois, west of Chicago, where she is a married mother of four children: Tyler, Anna, George and Liam. Dr. Creed enjoys riding horses, spending time with her children, and physical fitness.
