Dr. Jerry Hankins

Dr. Jerry Hankins is the medical director for Med MD Plus. It is a new concept clinic located in Pell City, Alabama. He has over 20 years of experience in the medical practice of traditional primary care, age management, occupational and aesthetic medicine. Dr. Hankins practices with a professional caring approach, addressing the individual completely rather than only the symptoms.
Dr. Hankins is originally from the small rural town of Grenada, Mississippi. He enjoyed playing football and being in a band throughout high school and college. He graduated on the President’s List from Delta State University in Mississippi, with a BS in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry and Art. Dr. Hankins attended the Microbiology Masters Program at Mississippi State University.
He received his medical degree from University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1992, and he completed his residency in Internal Medicine from Baptist Health Centers in Birmingham in 1995. Dr. Hankin’s focus was on primary care medicine, with an interest in emergency and critical care.
Post residency, Dr. Hankins staffed Emergency Departments from 1995-2007. He cared for patients in surrounding communities, including Fort Payne, Jasper, Shelby, Birmingham and Cullman.
As Medical Director for Nursing and Incontinence Solutions, Dr. Hankins treated clinic and nursing home patients for Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction between 2001 and 2006. This was instrumental in his evolving interest in Hormonal Replacement Therapy and anti-aging medicine.
Additionally, In 2001, Dr Jerry Hankinsdeveloped the concept for a family and urgent care practice. He founded and developed theNarrows Health & Wellness Clinic in 2002, and he was instrumental to building a strong reputation for providing excellent care in the North Shelby 280 Corridor.
Dr. Jerry Hankins is a member of (A4M) Fellowship in Aesthetic Medicine, Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Regenerative and Functional Medicine and (A4M) Board Certification Program. He also is a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students from UAB and Samford University.1, Dr Jerry Hankins developed the concept for a family and urgent care practice. Dr Hankins has extensive training and experience in aesthetic medicine and the latest tec
