Figuring out how to be healthy is confusing and complicated on the best of days, especially now with massive amounts of pop medicine in the media and the advent of Dr. Google. But, it doesn't have to be this hard! Finding your place of optimal health can be done, and I'm here to help you get there. Sometimes the answer isn't more information, but rather a guide to help you navigate through all the information to safely and quickly reach your destination.
As a fourth year naturopathic medical intern at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, I have spent the last 9 years developing specific skills and unique ways to see the world. I have a passion for helping people to solve problems, especially those complex, exhausting health problems that your other doctors haven't been able to solve. I have a particular interest in endocrinology and thyroid problems, neurological disorders and out of balance or malfunctioning immune systems, and have extra training working with patients who have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia.
Prior to attending CCNM, I studied Science Kinesiology at McMaster University and gained a strong appreciation for the connection between the mind and the body, and how intimately linked the realms of emotional, spiritual and physical health are. Using a paradigm that assesses and incorporates all facets of well-being, in combination with gentle, supportive, individual therapies, I work to support you and your health in a way that allows you to feel the best that you can.
Naturopathic Medicine is based on a set of philosophies that guide us to go back to the basics, discover the root cause of the issue, and remove the obstacles in the safest, least invasive, most natural way possible, to allow your body to heal itself. An effective doctor is doing her job when she is not looking for ways to heal her patients, but rather helping her patients to heal themselves, and this is what I am here to help you do!
