Dr. John Riehs grew up in La Grange in Central Texas. He attended Oklahoma Christian University where he graduated with honors (Summa Cum Laude), achieving a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Riehs then went on to attain a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. While there, Dr. Riehs was an Omicron Kappa Upsilon scholarship student and he was honored with a number of clinical and academic awards, and he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Following graduation at the UT Health Science Center, Dr. Riehs provided general dentistry in an associate position in a private dental office in Edmond, Oklahoma. After some years in private practice, Dr. Riehs returned to Texas to attain a postdoctoral certificate in pediatric dentistry at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. After graduating, Dr. Riehs established a dental clinic (do we be specific and say Preston Center Pediatric Dentistry) in Dallas that specializes in pediatric dentistry.

In his personal life, Dr. John Riehs enjoys playing tennis -- in college at OC University he played tennis and was named National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American, NAIA Academic All-American and was a scholar athlete. Dr. Riehs also enjoys lifting weights, traveling, and family time with his two children, Jacob and Hayden.
