Dr. Jon Floyd

A Harvard-trained physician with two decades of professional experience, Dr. Jon Floyd currently serves as a Senior Urologist at Golden Gate Urology in Berkeley, California. Commanding an impressive background in urological medicine, Dr. Jon Floyd joined the clinic in 1991 after completing his internship at New England Deaconess Hospital (now Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center) and his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. When not engaged in his professional duties, Dr. Floyd enjoys spending time with his family and participating in his community. Dr. Jon Floyd’s achievements in medicine include performing more than 1,000 penile implant procedures during his career and helping found the cryosurgical program at the Berkeley-based Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, an affiliate facility of the Sutter Health network. At Golden Gate Urology, Dr. Floyd maintains a particular focus on urologic oncology and in diagnosing and treating patients with prostate cancer. Jon Floyd, MD, also possesses extensive experience identifying the causes and prescribing viable treatment plans to men with sexual dysfunction and women with incontinence. Earning his Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School in 1984, Dr. Floyd received his Medical Board of California license in 1990. He also holds Diplomate status with the American Board of Urology and serves as a Contributing Partner to the West Oakland Health Center. Outside of the office, Dr. Jon Floyd and his wife of 29 years raise their three daughters. A resident of Oakland, California, he attends and actively participates in the community of the Downs Memorial United Methodist Church. During his limited downtime, Jon Floyd, MD, enjoys working out and watching his undergraduate alma mater basketball team, the North Carolina Tar Heels, compete.
