Dr. Joseph Dryer

Dr. Joseph Dryer is an award-winning physician who brings more than two decades of medical experience to his current position as an orthopedic surgeon with the Faculty Group Practice at the NYU Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Joseph Dryer's practice focuses on a wide range of spine-related conditions, including scoliosis, spine fracture, tumors, and spondylolisthesis. In addition to his role at the NYU Medical Center, he is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery at New York University. He also serves as the Supervisor of the Bellevue Hospital Scoliosis Clinic.

Dr. Joseph Dryer graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Lafayette University, where he won the Theodore A. Distler Prize and the American Chemical Society Prize before going on to obtain his medical education at Columbia University. He completed his internship and residency at the Brooklyn/Kings County Medical Center and an orthopedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship at New York University. A member of the North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Joseph Dryer is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

An active member of the medical profession, Dr. Joseph Dryer has taught a spine course for operating room personnel through the Association of Osteosynthesis/Association for the Study of Internal Fixation. He has been recognized throughout his career for his contributions to the field and has twice won the Russell Hibbs Award from the Scoliosis Research Society. He has lectured widely on subjects such as lumbar disc disease, scoliosis, and spine biomechanics, and his papers and articles have appeared in journals such as Spine, American Laboratory, and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

A committed philanthropist, Dr. Joseph Dryer volunteers his time and medical expertise with several international nonprofit groups, including Cure International Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya, and the Mariposa Foundation in the Dominican Republic.
